Donation Station Event

Are you having a home sort out this summer? If so, we have some great news for you…. We are holding a donation drive and are ready and waiting to receive your donations.

The resale of your donated items through the Nightingales Regent Street store brings in much-needed funds so that Nightingale House Hospice can continue to provide free specialist care to patients and their families within our catchment area.

Our drive-up and drop-off Donation Station on Priory Street, Wrexham, will be open on Sunday, 11th August, from 9am to 1pm.

We expect it to be very busy, and to help minimise the handling of stock and to avoid delays, please ensure that you bring items in boxes or bags; we will be unable to accept items that are loose.

As always, we can only accept donations that we are able to sell through our shops, as it costs us to dispose of unsaleable items. For a list of items we are unfortunately unable to accept, please go to: nightingalehouse.co.uk/shops/

“We all wish him well for the future.”

New fundraising group in Coedpoeth

We are delighted to welcome a new group of community fundraisers to our fundraising family.

Our new Community Fundraiser, Mike Jones, has helped to set up the new Coedpoeth group with fellow supporters of Nightingale House Hospice.

Mike said: “ In Coedpoeth in recent years, there has been a core group of individuals who have done some fantastic fundraising events and activities in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.
“There’s a great sense of community spirit amongst this group of friends that is centralised in the wonderful Golden Lion, in the village who have facilitated these events, as well as other great events in aid of great causes.

“We had a meeting initially to discuss the next event in aid of Nightingale House Hospice called LAAAA Fest which is a family and dog friendly festival being held in memory of Phil Mitchell who was a hugely popular member of the local community.

“He truly was one of the friendliest most welcoming people I have met.

“So, with that in mind, I suggested it would be great to have an official Coedpoeth Fundraising Group, with the backing of our hospice, to join our wider network of existing fundraising groups.

“With the aim that we can support them through various ways in reaching their personal goals and we can provide greater awareness of the great services our hospice provides, have lots of fun and raise some critical funds towards patient care at NHH.

“When having the meeting I could see this passionate and energetic group of likeminded friends had an appetite for future different styles of fundraising activity in potentially new locations.”

Mike added: “I loved how our new members almost instantly knew their new roles as we discussed the logistics of setting up a group. I’d like to warmly welcome Tracey Evans as the new Chair, Sarah O’Reilly as Secretary and Grace Wood as Treasurer as well we have support from Tracey Richards and Krista Childs as well as a whole host of people who support them as and when where they can.

“It’s amazing to be introduced to these incredible supporters who are really caring, creative and professional. I can’t wait to see what they make happen.”

The festival is being held at the Golden Lion on Saturday, 31st August.
