Chip-O-Dee owner gifts hospice patients with presents to give to their loved ones
In a thoughtful gesture, Chip-O-Dee owner Haci Deniz has donated presents for the patients at Nightingale House Hospice to give to their children and grandchildren.
Following a family history of cancer, Haci wanted to support a charity that aids people in similar situations. When he asked his best friend, Matt Griffiths, if there was a charity that helps cancer patients in the local area, Matt immediately suggested: “My first thought was Nightingale House Hospice.”
Haci said: “It’s about making people happy.
“I wanted to do something that would brighten the patients’ and their families’ Christmas.
“I know some patients might not be able to get out and buy their own presents, so we’ve bought a range of toys and gifts suitable for children and young people to give to their families.
“I just love making people happy, and I hope that’s what these toys will do.”
The Chip-O-Dee owner, who moved to Wrexham four years ago from Turkey, was keen to spread some happiness by donating a variety of new toys and gifts for all ages, which the staff at Nightingale House will share with the patients.
Commenting on Haci’s generous gesture, Family Support Team Lead and Social Worker Jackie Rowley said: “We are extremely grateful for this kind and thoughtful donation from Haci. We hope that it brings comfort and joy to our patients and the young people in their families over the festive period, and that their time together creates moments of warmth, happiness, and cherished memories.”
