Chirk and Ceiriog Valley MP urges residents to support hospice’s lottery

THE MP for Clwyd South has urged residents in the region to support a lottery organised by a local hospice.

Simon Baynes MP has encouraged people to support the Nightingale House Hospice lottery to help raise additional funds for the organisation.

At a cost of £1, the lottery helps to provide funding for the vital care, support and advice the hospice offers to patients and families.

Mr Baynes paid tribute to the Hospice and its staff for all their hard work, particularly during the pandemic.

He said: “Nightingale House Hospice is an incredible organisation that I know supports many residents and their families in Clwyd South.

“I’d encourage residents to do what they can to support the Hospice in these difficult times, particularly by joining the Hospice lottery as I have done.

“We have all seen and heard about the incredible work of our NHS and social care workers during this crisis.

“We have all seen and heard about the incredible work of our NHS and social care workers during this crisis.

“And that’s why I’m appealing to people so that the Hospice can carry on their exceptional work.”

Mr Baynes acknowledged the difficulties in fundraising over the last few months due to coronavirus.

The Hospice provides care and support for patients with illnesses such as cancer, chronic diseases and also heart failure.

It also operates a 24-hour helpline, seven days a week, to offer support to patients and families.

The Nightingale House Lottery costs £1 per week. To find out more information, please visit https://www.nightingalehouse.co.uk/lottery/ or phone 01978 316800.

The lottery has already provided substantial funds and, in 2019, 16,000 people helped raise £535,000 by playing the lottery, which assisted in running the Hospice which costs £3.4 million a year to run.
