Hawarden Ball raises £5,693

Helen and Darren organized another fantastic Hawarden Ball at the Holiday Inn Chester West in memory of their friend Wendy. The event was held on what would have been Wendy’s 50th birthday and was kindly sponsored by Henry R. Davies.

An evening of laughter, fun, dancing, a raffle, and games ensured it was one to remember. The ball raised an incredible £5,693.95 for hospice services!

The Holiday Inn A55 Chester West provided a wonderful venue, fantastic rooms and delicious food for the ball.

Sarah Swims 22 miles for patient care

After working for the hospice for over four years, Sarah, our Corporate Partnership Lead, has decided to challenge herself to swim 22 miles whilst raising money for the services we provide at Nightingale House.

Sarah said: “As a fundraiser at Nightingale House, I am privileged to witness the extraordinary work and dedication of our team on a daily basis. I decided to embark on the Swim 22 challenge because of the compassionate care Nightingale House has provided to my own family over the years; being surrounded by inspiring individuals who go above and beyond to support it motivated me to take on this personal fitness challenge. Despite my own struggles with fitness and the difficulty of sticking to the routine on rainy evenings, I am proud to say I completed all 1,416 lengths! The dedication and resilience of our staff, patients, and their families have been a powerful reminder of why this effort was so worthwhile. I am grateful to all those who donated to my Just Giving page, it was lovely knowing I had all of your backings through this process.

She is raising money through her page on Just Giving, where you can read more about her motivations.

Wellbeing patients enjoy games and laughter

This week, a group of our Wellbeing Programme patients had fun making chocolate crispy cakes to take home. The room was filled with laughter and heart-warming conversations. It was such a wonderful activity that brought back lovely memories for some of our patients. And that’s not all – they also had a great time with quiz games and jigsaws.
