A Christmas Celebration Concert | Nightingale House Hospice

24 November @ 19:00 - 22:00

We are thrilled to unveil our Christmas Celebration Concert, a standout event in the Wrexham events calendar. This year, we’re delighted to feature beloved performers such as NEW Sinfonia, Rhos Male Voice Choir, and, making their debut, Dee Sign Choir.

We are especially excited to announce that BAFTA-nominated Lucy, who won the nation’s hearts on Channel 4’s The Piano at just 13 years old, will be joining us. Despite being completely blind and living with a chromosome 16 duplication—a rare condition affecting mental health, autism traits, and communication—Lucy’s exceptional musical talent continues to inspire. According to her team, “Lucy is excited to share her extraordinary talent at Nightingale House’s Christmas concert, supporting the vital work of the hospice. After captivating audiences at venues like the Royal Festival Hall and Windsor Castle, she looks forward to a magical evening of classic Christmas carols and festivities at William Aston Hall.”

This will be your only opportunity to see Lucy preform in the UK in 2024.

Artist Highlights:

Lucy
Her remarkable journey began with a performance at Leeds Train Station, where her rendition of Chopin’s Nocturne in B-flat Minor brought many to tears. Despite her health issues—Lucy’s exceptional talent shines brightly.

Her talent has earned her recognition from world-renowned pianist Lang Lang and pop sensation Mika, who both praised her stunning performances. Lucy performed at the Royal Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, reaching an audience of 18 million with her flawless rendition of Bach’s Prelude in C. Her performance at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall garnered over 11.7 million views on Instagram, setting a new record for the station.

In addition to her performances at iconic venues, Lucy’s bond with Lang Lang has led to further opportunities, including appearances at ITV’s Royal Variety Performance and an international ambassadorship with the Lang Lang International Music Foundation. Lucy’s remarkable ability to communicate through music has inspired many, culminating in her recent recording of her very own album. Her story, from playing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on a toy piano to performing alongside Grammy winner Gregory Porter, is a testament to her extraordinary talent and perseverance.
