Home Instead Senior Care donate £500 to Nightingale House Hospice Wrexham
A HOME care provider that operates in Wrexham and Flintshire has given back this Christmas.
Home Instead Senior Care has made a generous donation to Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham on behalf of their employees.
With the usual Christmas activities taking a different course this year, the company decided that they wanted to support a local charity after what has been a very tough year.
Heather Collin, community engagement lead at Home Instead, said: “We recognise that many charities will have missed a lot of fundraising opportunities this year as a result of Covid-19 restrictions, so we wanted to contribute in some way to that shortfall.
“We always do something at Christmas time to help out the local community and when we asked our staff to get involved and vote for the cause that was closest to their hearts, Nightingale House Hospice was the overwhelming winner due to the fantastic work that they do here in Wrexham.”
Home Instead’s initial plan was to donate £5 to the charity on behalf of each caregiver that the company employs.
This came to just under £300, but in the true spirit of Christmas, business owner Matthew Murray-James, decided he would round the donation up to £500.
Mr Murray-James, said: “Some of our clients, past and present, have spent time at Nightingale House and they are extremely well thought of by our caregivers and their families.
“Their services are vital to the local community and as a local business that also cares for vulnerable people we wanted to show our support.
“We hope that our contribution will help in some way to relieve the challenges that they have faced this year.”
