Epic skateboard challenge hero to host latest fundraiser for Nightingale House
Fitness fanatics have been urged to take on a day of challenges to raise vital funds for Nightingale House Hospice.
The challenges have been set by RPM Fitness in Wrexham – which is co-owned by Gavin Rogers.
Gavin is well known for being one-sixth of The Unskateables who raised £20,000 on an epic challenge – travelling the length of Wales on skateboards – for the hospice last year.
Gavin and five of his friends took on the challenge which saw them skating from Barry Island to Anglesey in a single weekend in memory of their friends Wayne Phillips and James Rush who both received support and care from Nightingale House.
And now Gavin is continuing his support for the hospice at his new gym with a series of tough fitness challenges including a 250-metre ski, a 500-metre row and a timed bar hang.
RPM is hosting the open event later this month to celebrate 20 years in business as well as the opening of the company’s new purpose-designed gym in Pandy.
The gym was originally based at Wrexham Tennis Centre but moved to the new site in Pandy earlier this year.
The impressive site now boasts a gym kitted out with state-of-the-art fitness studio, a variety of small group training classes, personal training services and a recovery room, featuring infra red sauna and plunge pool.
Gavin said: “Nightingale House is a cause close to our hearts here at RPM and we are delighted to be able to support the charity on our open event with a range of challenges. There will be prizes on offer from the challenges and also a draw with some fantastic prizes available including free membership and free sauna and ice bath sessions.”
Visitors to the event can also take part in a range of classes and can take the opportunity to find out more about the gym, fitness classes and nutrition support available from the RPM team.
Gavin added: “We want to thank our loyal customers for supporting our business for the past 20 years, welcome new members to our facility and use the event to raise money for a charity close to our hearts.
“The challenge will be tough but a lot of fun and we hope lots of people will come along and dig deep in their pockets to help this fantastic charity.
“We look forward to seeing you there.”
The event will be held on Saturday, November 16th at RPM Fitness Studio on Pandy Business Park. The celebration continues with an open gym invitation on Sunday, November 17th.
