Thousands flock to Wrexham’s MotorFest – and raise more than £23,000 for Nightingale House Hospice!
Thousands of people flocked to enjoy an action-packed event in Wrexham at the weekend… and dug deep in their pockets to raise more than £23,000 for Nightingale House Hospice.
More than 7,000 people attended an action-packed MotorFest at Penyllan Farm in Marchwiel on Saturday.
A huge range of classic and new vehicles were on show and crowds also enjoyed thrilling automotive displays, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The event, jointly organised by Nightingale House Hospice and the Wrexham Council Events Team, was free to attend with visitors being asked to make a donation on arrival.
Nightingale House Events Manager Elise Jackson said: “It was a fantastic day and we would like to thank all visitors for joining us and raising so much money to fun patient care at Nightingale House. Every penny counts and we are so grateful for your generosity.
“Special thanks also goes to R.F. Bellis for sponsoring the event.”
Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy, Business and Tourism described the day as a “wonderful experience”.
He added: “This year’s MotorFest has been a huge success in bringing people together and raising funds for an important cause. Attending this year’s event with my family was a wonderful experience, and it was great to see so many families enjoying the entertainment and activities on offer. It’s always such a pleasure to work with Nightingale House Hospice on events like this – their work is invaluable to our community.”
Forty six volunteers from Nightingale House helped out on the day.
Volunteer manager Jo Kearns said: “The day went extremely well and was enjoyed by all. I would like to say thank you to the community as well as to the volunteers who gave up their time to help on the day. Without our volunteers and their generous gift of time we would not be able to put on events of this size that not only raise vital funds for the hospice but create awareness and understanding of the services we offer to our communities.”
